The Keto Diet Explained (And what is Ketosis?)

Keto is a low carbohydrate and healthy fat lifestyle or way of eating. The high intake of healthy fats and low intake of carbohydrates will put you into what is called nutritional ketosis. This means your liver will break down fat cells to burn energy and ketones will be formed for your body to fuel on. The ketones improve brain function and mental clarity. The healthy fat is also incredibly satisfying which causes you to naturally reduce your calorie intake and in turn lose weight!

How to get your body into Ketosis

It can be difficult to navigate a new way of eating with challenges such as meal planning and searching for keto friendly recipes. I have had huge success with clients reducing their carbohydrate intake and increasing their healthy fat intake to get into ketosis. Free Sample Keto Recipe: Raw Peanut Butter Keto Slice

Nutritional Info

Calories: 123
Carbs: 3.6gms (11%)
Fat(Healthy): 10.8gms (75%)
Protein: 4.7gms (14%)

For the Base

Blend together:
1 cup of raw Cashews
1 cup of desiccated Coconut
2 scoops of Vanilla Whey Protein (Purchase Online Here)
4 tbsp Cacao Powder

Then add 4 tbsp of melted Coconut oil. Mix together then press into a slice tin lined with baking paper. Freeze for 10 minutes.

For the Topping

Mix together:
½ cup of Peanut Butter
A pinch of salt
3 tbsp melted coconut oil

Spread over the base and freeze for a further 10 mins.
Cut into 24 pieces and store in an airtight container in the fridge.
